In light of Valentine's Day being today, we are posting this blog about a beautiful and romantic place to hike in L.A. So, for this romantic hike and mini-adventure, we set off to Eaton Canyon in north Pasadena last Saturday, February 12th.
The bridge is magnificent and for the extreme mountain bikers and runners. It is under the bridge where we got to interact with the mountain stream.
We set our shutter speed a bit slower to capture that mystical bloom effect as the water is moving, as in this picture. (shown on left)
We even got to capture these two lovebirds, just enjoying nature and being "in their own little world."
Haha, just like us, i guess. (But without cameras.)
It was totally worth lugging the camera up and down the trail and across the slippery rocks and water. Thankfully, no one fell in and we can continue to share some photos of our adventures to our blog readers. (In case we have any, that is. LOL)
The hike is approximately 2 miles to the waterfall. It's possible to hike further, if you feel bold and daring, to get to the top of the waterfall. Many years ago I witnessed guys crazy enough to jump off into the lagoon. That was back in '94. Trying that now would be futile since it can't be more than 2 ft deep. I'm excited to see how big the lagoon will be this Spring 2011, when the snowcaps melt.
It was great hiking this trail after so many years. A little piece of paradise for those seeking a natural refuge from the concrete jungle.
We even saw the old stone oven still there from back in the day. I imagine this oven has provided hot food and comfort to many wary travelers and settlers.

What we got was so much more and we are excited to edit them for the portfolio.
